site to assure yourself that your information will be protected. This information is usually published on the order page.

Don't judge the reliability of a Web site by how good a web site looks. It is relatively easy and for anyone to create,
register and promote a Web site. Check for the prefix https:// . . . in the Uniform Resource Locator box which lists the
website’s web address to be sure that a site you are using is secure. Make sure it is https and not just http, the s
indicates that the page is secure. Read your credit card statements as you receive them and be on the lookout for
unauthorized charges.

best possible deterrent to online fraud. Vigilance and knowing exactly what to look for limits the possibility of fraud.
Reputation/Background – Do you recognize the company or individual from whom you are about to purchase? Are they
associated with any company that is immediately recognizable? If you have problems during a transaction, try to work them
out directly with the seller, buyer or site operator. If that doesn't work, file a complaint with: the Federal Trade
